Welcome to String Theory

This is Dead Ringer speaking.

We're all connected, somehow. You all should realize that.

This chalkboard: it's only a blank slate, like all of your minds. I will now instil the fear in all of you that you tried to do with me... The hazing has gone on far enough. We almost tried to kill each other. It's how hazing works. But now, all of you will fall one by one.

One by one.

Have you figured me out yet?

I'm your God. I'm your Devil. I'm your life, your death...I'm one of you. But you don't know who I am. You'll never know. Have you figured me out yet?

Are you scared yet?

The first murders will occur soon. You have been warned.

She had wandered into the cafeteria to get a cup of coffee, hopefully it would be good coffee. She wasn't really in the mood to complain about crummy coffee. She asked Gwen if she could meet up with her later. She had walked to her dorm room and placed her stick bag in there. She really wasn't in the mood to carry around such a heavy bag. She had her backpack hanging on her side boucing away everytime it hit her leg. She breathed in deeply, and entered the cafeteria. She looked around, and didn't spot Gwen right away. She walked in line, and began deciding want she wanted. The cafeteria coffee wasn't bad. She heard from some other people around campus. She had to find out for herself.

She got up to the cashier, and sighed. "Any suggestions?" she asked. There was no one behind her, and she figured she could her the story of the cashier. It was a short blonde lady there. She seemed in her early thirties, but Cassie could be wrong. She couldn't really judge people's ages quite well. "Any of the cold coffees are exceptionally good," she muttered. Cassie nodded her head, and looked at the different flavors there were. She smiled. "I'll have a cold coffee with caramel flavor. Small, please," she muttered. The cashier typed in something very quickly on the small computer screen in front of her, and muttered,"$2.59, please." Cassie pulled out her wallet and handed her two dollars and began searching for the 59 cents.

Two Quarters. One...nickel! Here we go. And one, two, three, four pennies! She thought. She handed the additional change to the cashier. The cashier pointed to the end of the line where a couple other college kids were waiting for their beverages. Her mind drifted back to the lovely little chick she met in the percussion room. She smiled. She was quite beautiful. Everytime she thought about her. Her heart seemed to increase in speed. It quite her breath away. She shook her head, and took her drink. She sat down at a table near the entrance of the place. She pulled out her notebook and a book she was suppose to read. She finished the book a couple months ago, but she had to write a quite report on it. She started writing the book's title and author. She wrote her name in the corner, and stared at the blank page.

She sighed. It was really boring. She started writing about the book she read. She explained paragraph by paragraph what the author was trying to explain in the book. She was three paragraphs in, and she smiled. She was on a role! She continued writing faster, until the paper seemed to be finish. She looked over the page for any errors, and corrected them.

&. tell me how you've never felt

A sigh passed her lips as she walked down the corridor again. It was a different one to the last one she had seen. The last one being the music department one. She hadn’t felt the need to change from her rather…unusual attire. Yes, unusual because she looked like a school-girl gone bad. The whole; unbuttoned shirt tied in a bow to reveal her stomach, the low cut skirt, the high heels and the cropped hair. Honestly, it was a really odd look for someone in University. Still, it suited her in some strange way. It had been a good ten minutes or so since she had met a nice girl in the music department, a drummer. She hadn’t seen many other people around, because she was either locked in her room listening to music, singing or on the Uni’s Grand Piano. It made a change to see a new face as well. Gwen was used to being around in her little ‘gang’ of people. Yet, she couldn’t call them friends. They were just the bunch of drinking, raving, partying and…one-night-stand people she hung around with. To be perfectly honest, that was her life really. She didn’t study much, because she was taking music and there was no need to study. All she ever did was practice her playing and signing. But seeing that other woman made things a little different in her head.

Her heels tapped against the floor as she walked on, grey-blue eyes looking around to see if there was anyone else she knew. Nothing. Giving another sigh, she raised a hand to her face, pushing the strands of black hair from her eyes. Turning a corner, noise hit her as she walked into the cafeteria. She had only been in there once or twice since joining the university, and she didn’t really like it too much. There were too many people around for her liking. Still, she had promised to go out for a coffee. She wanted to go out of the university, go to a club or something to meet…but she wasn’t one to argue. Especially with her. She wouldn’t have been able to anyway. There was a reason behind it, but Gwen wasn’t too sure what the reason really was.

She looked around the cafeteria as she walked in, watching all of the small groups of people dotted around. Shaking her head, she was about to walk over to the counter when she looked to one of the tables by chance. Long black hair and pretty eyes were the first tings she saw and a small smile came to her face. ‘So, she is here after all!’ She could see her writing in a notebook and guessed she was stuck doing a boring English project or something. A smirk came over her face as she tried to walk quietly over towards her. She had to admit, Cassie was quite the looker. To her. The smirk faded as her blue-grey eyes shimmered. Coming up behind the other woman, she lifted her hands up and placed them on her shoulder, looking over to read the notebook. “So Cassie, what y’up to?” She smiled to herself, wondering what he reaction would be.

She corrected certain mistakes she had. Just little grammar errors here and there, and then bam! She was done. Well...almost done. She would have to type it on her computer later. She took another sip of her cold coffee, and smiled. She heard the lovely voice of Gwen. She met Gwen only a couple minutes ago, but something had sparked within her for the girl. She shook her head. Gwen was quite adorable, though. She had an interesting outfit. A school girl gone bad. She liked it. It gave Gwen some flavor. She smiled.

"Hey, um just finishing up a paper for English. How's it going?" she muttered. She smiled, and took another sip of coffee. She was glad that she managed to finish her English paper before Gwen got her. She knew she would be distracted with Gwen there if she tried to write the paper.
